Our Story

Joseph Alexander is the President and Founder of the The Resistance Studio. He has over 25 years of practical experience as a Professional Personal Trainer and holds multiple certifications in various fitness disciplines including: RTS® (Resistance Training Specialist) , Wharton Performance -Flexibility Technician and Urban Spider®Transition Trainer, he also holds a culinary certification from the French Culinary Institute.

The Executives Personal Trainer
Joe honed his personal training skills while living in New York. His client list consisted of Senior-level executives that worked in the financial district as well as residents of Soho, Tribeca, the Upper East Side and East Hampton Long Island. Known for his no nonsense approach when it comes to training his clients he was able help even the busiest Client find time in the day to work out.


Mirna Alexander is the Co-founder, Secretary and Director of Operations of the The Resistance Studio. Mrs. Alexander is a Certified Personal Trainer through ACE® (the American Council on Exercise)  and Wharton Performance as an Active Isolated Flexibility Technician. MIrna is an avid fitness enthusiast who believes that everyone has the ability to improve his or her quality of life through exercise and eating responsibly.

Before joining the microgym, Mirna Alexander was employed in the financial industry for fourteen years.  She is a former associate of a major investment banking firm in New York and completed her twelve years of service with this firm shortly after the September 11th tragedy in lower Manhattan.

Mrs. Alexander acquired her undergraduate degree at City College of New York and is still an active registered associate in the financial industry.
