You’ve just arrived at your fitness club and only have 45 minutes to exercise. To make matters worse it’s 6pm, which is peak time for your club. What do you do in order to get the most out of your workout? The key to completing a productive workout session is to manage your time efficiently.
Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your workout in a minimal amount of time.
Have a written workout program to follow. If your goal is to work on multiple muscle groups then maybe following a moderate to high intensity circuit program will do the trick. There are many circuit programs that you can choose from that are very effective and not very time consuming. I will provide you with some of the workout programs that I have proscribed for my clients in the upcoming weeks.
Do not allow yourself to get caught up in the fitness club social scene. Some people may try to strike up a conversation with you while you are in the middle of exercising, politely inform them that you will be more than willing to talk to them later but right now you must remain focused on completing your workout. You are not being rude you’re just serious about achieving your goals.
Time your rest periods in between sets or circuits. In order to get the most out of your workout program, I recommend wearing a digital watch that can be set to count down from a minimum of 30 seconds, and it should have an alarm feature that will alert you once it has reached zero. If you are doing a circuit training program then you may want to rest anywhere between one to three minutes, depending on haw many exercises you are planning to to within the the circuit and your level of intensity.
I believe that 45 minutes can be more than enough time to experience a challenging and rewarding workout. Ultimately it’s up to you to make it happen.
